NEW YORK — Corporate treasury heavyweight Strategy has returned to the digital asset market, acquiring 950 BTC for $75.7 million in cash at an average price of $79,670 per coin.
The acquisition marks the company’s first Bitcoin purchase in approximately three weeks, lifting total institutional holdings to 846,000 BTC acquired for a cumulative $63.81 billion at an average cost basis of $74,417 per coin.
Financial Breakdown and Treasury Deployment
According to a regulatory filing submitted Monday morning, the purchase was financed directly through the company’s existing USD reserves rather than new equity sales:
- Bitcoin Allocation: $75.7 million deployed to acquire 950 BTC.
- Preferred Stock & Share Repurchases: The firm utilized $174 million in USD cash to fund repurchases of STRC and allocated $57.4 million toward preferred stock dividend payments.
- Remaining Reserves: Strategy’s reserves stand at $5 billion in total USD reserves, alongside $1 billion in unallocated USD cash.
Led by Executive Chairman Michael Saylor, the company’s continuous accumulation strategy remains one of the largest corporate bellwethers for digital asset adoption.
