China Decided To Increase Coal Production

The coal step has come to repeat last year’s power cuts from China. Ren Jingdong, Cabinet Deputy Head of the National Energy Administration, said the government aims to increase annual coal production by 12 percent to 4.6 billion tons by 2025. In China, it has been announced that it is planning to increase coal production by 2025 to prevent a repeat of last year’s power cuts.

Ren Jingdong, Cabinet Deputy Head of the National Energy Administration, said the government aims to increase annual coal production to 4.6 billion tons by 2025. It was stated that this would be an increase of 12 percent compared to 4.1 billion tons last year.

Emphasizing that China will uphold the stabilizing role of coal, Ren said the country will “strongly advance oil and gas exploration and development.”

Ren said officials are trying to ensure that the government achieves the targets set in the last 5-year development plan to “supply 20 percent of electricity by 2025 and 25 percent by 2030 from non-fossil fuel sources”

The share of clean energy will increase

Noting that this includes wind, solar, hydroelectric, nuclear and geothermal energy, Ren noted that China will “establish a comprehensive clean energy supply system”

Zhao Cenching, Deputy Director of the National Development and Reform Commission, also said his plans include building 450 million kilowatt “large-scale wind and solar bases” in northern China’s Gobi Desert.

In China, a major investor in wind and solar power, after economic growth slumped last year and power cuts, Communist Party leaders have called for more coal-fired power.
